Celebrate National Poetry Day on Thursday April 26 with these two poetry readings.

Imtiaz Dharker is a poet, artist and documentary film-maker. Awarded the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry in 2014, she has six collections including Postcards from god, The Terrorist at my Table, Over the Moon and the latest, Luck Is the Hook, all published by Bloodaxe Books UK.

“Reading her, one feels that were there to be a World Laureate, Imtiaz Dharker would be the only candidate.” CAROL ANN DUFFY

Pascale Petit was born in Paris and lives in Cornwall. Her seventh collection, Mama Amazonica (Bloodaxe, 2017) was a Poetry Book Society Choice. Her sixth, Fauverie, was her fourth to be shortlisted for the TS Eliot Prize and five poems from it won the Manchester Poetry Prize. In 2015 she received a Cholmondeley Award and in 2018 she won a RSL Literature Matters Award.

“This is a major literary feat, and this a brilliant sequence of poems. It burns in its own supranatural light.” TIM LIARDET & VONA GROARKE, POETRY BOOK SOCIETY BULLETIN ON MAMA AMAZONICA
