An exhibition of prints and works by Sam Winston, including his award-winning project with Oliver Jeffers, A Child of Books. Combining the rich landscapes of children’s literature with intricately detailed typographic art, this exhibition looks to celebrate the power of classic stories through letterform and the art of the book.
Operating at the intersections of where visual culture and literature meet, Winston’s art is concerned with language not only as a carrier of messages but also as a visual form in and of itself.
Sam Winston is a fine artist whose work has been featured in many special collections worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles, the Tate Galleries in London, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. He works and lives in London.
We are delighted to feature one of Sam’s illustrations from A Child of Books (by Sam Winston and Oliver Jeffers, Walker Books) on this year’s programme cover.
