Join us for an in conversation with Ciara Ní É, one of five Taibhsín Artists in Residence. Ciara is a bilingual Irish-language writer, performer and filmmaker. Her work is rooted in contemporary Irish culture, with a particular focus on language, identity and queer experience. She is the founder of the multilingual spoken word platform REIC.
Ciara is a bilingual Irish-language writer, performer and filmmaker working across poetry, theatre and screen. Her work is rooted in contemporary Irish culture, with a particular focus on language, identity and queer experience.
Named one of the Irish Examiner’s 100 Women Changing Ireland in 2022, she has been Artist in Residence at UCD, Dublin Fringe Festival and DCU. She is the founder of the multilingual spoken word platform REIC and co-founder of the queer arts collective AerachAiteachGaelach.
Her poetry has been published in PIR, Aneas and Comhar, and in anthologies including Bone and Marrow, Queering the Green and Impressions Irlandaise.
Her debut short film Claonadh premiered at Galway Film Fleadh 2025, and her upcoming short Ar Strae is in pre-production, with funding by TG4. She is currently a Taibhdhearc Artist in Residence developing a new play.
