A ground-breaking Irish lesbian love story, it follows Ro as an undocumented Cork woman witnessing the 1980s AIDS crisis in America to the 2015 marriage referendum in Ireland. Join Katherine in conversation with Paul Maddern, who spent the 80s in the Castro District in San Francisco.

Author Biography

Katherine O’Donnell spent her childhood on Haulbowline island, in Cork harbour. She has lived in Boston, Berkeley, Brighton, Oxford and Kawasaki and now divides her time between Dublin and Cork. In her day job she is known in University College Dublin as the Professor of the History of Ideas, in UCD School of Philosophy. Katherine is published widely as an academic in the areas of transitional justice, gender history, and the Irish Enlightenment. She has been a feminist and LGBT activist for many decades and is a member of Justice for Magdalenes Research.
