We’re delighted to welcome back to Cúirt the multi-award-winning novelist and visual artist Sara Baume, to lead us through the remote and unconventional lives of Bell and Sigh, protagonists of Baume’s third novel, Seven Steeples. Settling into their new home in the Irish countryside with their two dogs, the couple attempt over the course of many years to build a life embedded in nature, attuned to the seasons, at a remove from humanity. Baume will be interviewed by sculptor and visual artist Dorothy Cross.

Sara Baume was born in Lancashire and grew up in County Cork, Ireland. Her debut novel, Spill Simmer Falter Wither, was shortlisted for the Costa First Novel Award and longlisted for the Guardian First Book Award, the Warwick Prize for Writing and the Desmond Elliott Prize, and won the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize. Sara lives in West Cork.
